сжатие неподвижных изображений
Преобразование изображений в цифровую форму с использованием скалярного или векторного квантования. Неподвижное изображение содержит большую избыточность, устранение которой позволяет повысить эффективность передачи и снизить объем памяти, необходимой для его хранения. Чаще всего сжатие неподвижных изображений осуществляется с использованием алгоритма JPEG.
